Smartsheet Forward 2025 Edition 2: Shaping the future of enterprise work

There’s a ton of momentum at Smartsheet right now, and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of it. Since joining in April, I’ve been inspired by how deeply this team listens to customers and turns that feedback into meaningful innovation that makes a difference in how people work.  

Over the past few months, we’ve connected with hundreds of customers at Smartsheet Summits in Melbourne, Sydney, and London. Learning how teams are using Smartsheet to drive impact — across industries and around the world — has been incredibly energizing. We also expanded our global footprint with Smartsheet Regions Australia, providing customers with capabilities that support their performance, scale, and compliance requirements. 

And there’s so much more to come. Smartsheet is rethinking how work flows — across teams, tools, and time zones — to help people move faster, think more strategically, and do their best work. We’re building not just a work platform, but AI-powered, enterprise-grade work management.

This is just the beginning. We’re building AI tools designed to help teams stay in flow, not stuck in the weeds — and we’re doing it responsibly. That means exploring agentic AI that can anticipate needs and offer proactive guidance, while upholding the highest standards for data privacy, security, and governance.

Engineering for durability, designing for innovation

Behind the scenes, we’re evolving into a next-generation platform purpose-built for the modern era of dynamic, AI-powered work. At its core, our architecture is designed to adapt to growing customer needs while reliably supporting complex, high-volume enterprise workloads.

Alongside this foundational work, we’re rolling out a redesigned table view, with a refreshed UI, increased data capacity, and powerful new features like column links. In the months ahead, you can expect:

• Smoother scrolling and more responsive editing
• Simplified dependency management and cross-sheet references

Soon, you’ll also be able to visualize work across your organization with the timeline view widget in dashboards so you can map project phases and milestones alongside key metrics. This feature is currently available in EAP.

We know today’s teams are under pressure to move faster and do more with less. The demand for smarter, more strategic solutions is clear: over 85% of businesses are actively using project management software.
