Leading at Smartsheet: Where mindset meets momentum

When I reflect on why I joined Smartsheet, three reasons come to mind:

The people: From my first conversations during the interview process, I could tell this was a team of smart, driven, and genuinely passionate people who care about building something great together.

The product: Smartsheet isn’t just a category leader, it’s a platform uniquely positioned to help customers tackle complex work challenges at scale.

The timing: We have a rare opportunity to drive bold innovation, especially with the rise of AI. With the right strategy, execution, and collaboration, we can unlock massive growth.

Now, I get to bring my leadership style to this journey—one that’s rooted in resilience, adaptability, and empathy.

I learned a lot about my leadership style during my 10-year tenure at my previous company. During that time, we went through major phases of transformation. Each brought unique challenges, but my team consistently delivered high-performing results by growing our revenue. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, my team’s rapid launch of Emergency Remote Work Kits and customer support resulted in over 30% becoming long-term customers. By prioritizing empathy and customer needs, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration, we consistently turned challenges into lasting success.

That mindset is core to who I am. It started long before my career, back when I was a competitive gymnast. That experience taught me that resilience is built through consistency, feedback builds strength, and even in individual sports, teamwork is everything. I believe in the power of mindset. With a background in psychology and a strong belief in silver linings, I’ve always been drawn to helping others grow. That same passion fuels how I lead today, and I carry it outside of the workplace and into coaching swimming and gymnastics.

Of course, recharging matters too. I stay grounded by spending time with my husband and two boys, enjoying activities like hiking or snowboarding. I’ve also taken up baking sourdough bread, which I’m told is a slippery slope into owning a chicken coop—I’m not there yet! And on the weekends, I moonlight as an amateur mixologist, shaking (not stirring) up fancy tequila drinks.

Joining Smartsheet felt natural to me. It’s a place where I can bring together my passion for people, performance, and progress, and continue to lead teams through the moments that matter.
