Data Shuttle allows you to create scheduled imports and exports of data into and out of Smartsheet. You can use Data Shuttle with any platform that exports and imports CSV and Excel files — allowing for use cases that can span across an entire business. Once the data is in Smartsheet, you can leverage automation and reporting in Smartsheet for better collaboration across teams.
Data Shuttle can use CSV, XSLX, or Google Sheet files that are either attachments to a sheet in Smartsheet, or stored in Google Drive, Microsoft (OneDrive/SharePoint), or Box. These files could be stand-alones that are updated outside of Smartsheet or exports from another system.
Data Shuttle is the most flexible option for bringing in data from your external systems, such as Netsuite, Workday, or SAP.
Data Shuttle is recommended whenever you have a CSV or XLSX file (such as an export from another system) and would like to bring that information into Smartsheet on a recurring basis. Data Shuttle can also be used to generate exports of Smartsheet data as a CSV or XLSX files on a recurring basis. It is not recommended for one-time imports of CSV or XLSX files.
Data Shuttle is a tool that can be used to import or export CSV or XLSX files from external systems into Smartsheet. DataTable can be used to store this data (imported with Data Shuttle) in cases where your dataset exceeds the size of a sheet. DataMesh works similarly to Data Shuttle but instead of connecting between an external dataset and Smartsheet, it can be used to merge and sync data between two different sources (such as a sheet) within Smartsheet.
Data Shuttle can perform automatic uploads of CSV or XLSX exports from other systems and can generate CSV or XLSX exports from Smartsheet. It does not create a direct connection with other systems but can be used to streamline upload merges of information into existing sheets in Smartsheet. See examples of systems you can use with Data Shuttle.
If you need to create a direct connection to another system, we have several integrations and connectors to specific systems (including bi-directional syncs with Jira, Salesforce, and Microsoft Dynamics 365). Bridge by Smartsheet can also be used to create custom integrations with other systems. Contact our team to learn more about which product is best for your situation.
