Senior Data Engineer

Job Description:
Design and develop big data ingestion architectures for analytical and predictive Business Intelligence data platforms. Build big data systems to Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) data from various external and internal endpoints of value. Design, implement, and maintain data models, including relational, dimensional, and flattened models. Lead the development of data capabilities in all facets, from strategic to tactical implementation, and from conception to post-deployment. Ensure smooth ongoing operations of the data platform with high availability across multiple geographical regions while making continuous improvements. Help key users across the entire organization to understand and consume the data sets and platform for enhanced decision-making and analytics. Advance the data architecture and platform and ensure adherence to key architectural principles and best practices. Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills. Telecommuting permitted up to 100%from any Smartsheet registered location in the U.S.
Requirements:
Requires a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Informatics, Mathematics, or a related field, and three years of experience in:
- Working with dispersed engineering teams and business users to design and build infrastructure to build and run data pipelines into a centralized data mart;
- Designing, developing, and maintaining Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) systems while accounting for best suited data engineering principles;
- Contributing to the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including defining, prioritizing, taking ownership, implementing, testing, and deploying new features; and
- Analyzing, developing, and maintaining databases and data warehouses and running database queries to answer business or performance questions.

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location.
