Cross-Functional Coordination That Holds: Owning Handoffs You Don't Control

Wednesday, Nov 4 | 1:20PM - 5:00PM

Details

You depend on teams that don't report to you, and when a handoff slips, you absorb the consequence with no real leverage to prevent it. This session shows how to build cross-functional coordination that holds: a single record everyone works from, handoffs with clear ownership and visible status, and intake and routing that move work between functions without re-keying or chasing. Bring a cross-functional process that breaks at the handoff today and leave with an architecture for making ownership clear across teams you don't control.

Enterprise Solution Engineer

Shaayann Khalid, MHA, spent nearly a decade in healthcare operations, spanning provider services, practice management, strategic initiatives, and pharmatech. When COVID-19 pushed healthcare staffing into crisis, he turned to Smartsheet at TeamHealth, one of the nation's largest physician staffing firms, to build escalation systems that closed staffing gaps before they turned into missed shifts. That project sparked his interest in solution design, and eventually his move from operator to Solutions Engineer at Smartsheet, where he now helps large enterprise organizations design solutions of their own. He is certified in Lean Six Sigma and Agile and holds a master's in Global Health Management from Imperial College Business School in London.
