Dan Hinsley is Senior Director of Security Assurance & Trust at Smartsheet, where he leads GRC Engineering and Field Security Engineering teams building automation and AI tooling behind the company's security and compliance program. A CISSP and Air Force veteran, Dan spent nearly a decade in cyberspace defense with the DoW before moving into enterprise security roles at CVS Health and Vanta. At Smartsheet, he's building his org from the ground up around one idea: GRC and compliance work should be engineered, not just managed, with automation and AI doing the heavy lifting so security teams can move at the speed of the business. Outside of work, Dan is a father of three and a recreational boater and fisherman on Narragansett Bay, and he enjoys advising businesses that are struggling to modernize their GRC engineering, automation, and AI security practices.

His work centers on communicating how the platform supports enterprise work today and will evolve as agentic AI transforms enterprise security and governance.
